She has extensive experience in flood risk and water management (surface, foul and supply), green/blue infrastructure, climate analysis and resilience and hydraulic modelling; working on all elements of project delivery, from feasibility to construction, in both private and public sectors at strategic, regional and local scales.

    Peter Clegg established Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios with Richard Feilden in 1978. Regarded as a pioneer in environmental design, he has 45 years' experience in low energy architecture and is active in research, design and education. Peter works primarily in the education and cultural sectors. He has chaired the RIBA National, International and Research Awards and the Design West Review Panel, holds a professorship at Bath University, and in 2010 was made a Royal Designer for Industry (RDI). He has been responsible for a wide range of projects at variety of scales from schools and theatres to university masterplans and large scale urban design projects including a new site in North Bristol for 6000 homes, schools and workplaces , and an urban extension to the city of Kigali.

    Alan is a chartered civil engineer with over 40 years’ infrastructure, flood risk, hydrology plus foul & surface water drainage experience in the UK, middle and far east. Working for a UK Water Authority plus international multi-disciplinary consultancies where he has been a technical lead in drainage and flood risk design, delivering solutions for hundreds of residential, commercial and industrial development sites in all flood zones. Also experienced in drainage and flood protection for highways, nuclear facilities, ports and airports. He was Global SuDS Knowledge Leader at Halcrow plus assisted in drafting the National SuDS Standards and The SuDS Manual 2015. More recently undertaking lots of Nutrient Neutral designs – particularly around mitigating or absorbing phosphates from new housing. Alan has been a design review panel member in the Midlands and the Southwest for over 8 years.

    Frances Crow is a chartered architect and Director of Crow Architecture. The practice specialises in retrofit, conservation and regenerative development in a rural context. Her experience in practice, teaching, research and engaged-arts projects, combines to define her approach to development. She champions projects that consider demolition as a last resort, use a ‘fabric first’ approach, privilege bio-based materials and use principles of the circular economy to reduce the embodied and in use carbon.

    Rob is an architect and is Head of Sustainability at Stride Treglown. He is passionate about climate-sensitive regenerative design, biodiversity and creating healthy and distinctive places. His key specialisms are masterplanning, mixed-use and residential design. He has been sustainability advisor to the RIBA Southwest awards, is an external Examiner at UWE and has been the winner of several RIBA design competitions.

    A Chartered engineer with 30 years’ experience in transport planning and delivery of infrastructure for new developments. Nathan is passionate about urban design, promoting walkable neighbourhood, good cycling infrastructure and approaches to parking that support those objectives. Nathan has a strong interest in spatial planning and urban design approaches that contribute towards tackling climate change; his recent work includes the carbon modelling of spatial options for strategic housing growth and decarbonising road construction specifications.

Over time, she has developed a particular interest and significant experience in the specialism of sustainable building conservation, honed through full-time employment at Historic England and the completion of an MSc (with distinction). Elspeth also enjoys occasional teaching at Cardiff University and the University of Bath.

    Bill Gething is a retired architect and sustainability consultant and is Professor Emeritus at the University of the West of England, where he retains an involvement in teaching and research. He has particular expertise in low energy design; housing; adapting buildings to the changing climate, particularly in relation to overheating; thermal retrofit of the existing stock, and ensuring buildings perform as well in practice as they should in theory.

    Jack is an Associate at Hydrock Consultants, leading a team of consultants in Bristol specialising in decarbonisation and the energy transition. He also works part-time as an Associate Lecturer at UWE for the Architecture & Environmental Engineering course, reinforcing his holistic approach to design across all RIBA stages and scales. Jack strives to make the biggest impact in instigating large-scale decarbonisation of existing estates, and demonstrating the benefits of net zero design for masterplanning projects.
